Hotel Accommodations
The conference is being held at the Coeur d'Alene Tribal Casino in Worley, Idaho. The special conference rate is $71.95 per night (tax free) if you register before October 4, 2005. The standard rate of $84.95 will be charged after that date and is dependent upon room availability.
You must make your own reservations by calling the hotel front desk at 1-800-523-2464, extension 7707. Please ask for the group name Native People's Circle of Hope to receive the special rate. A credit card to hold the reservation is not required but is recommended. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
Getting to the Hotel:
By Air: The destination airport is Spokane, Washington
By Ground:
To Spokane, Washington then south on highway 45 to Worley, Idaho.
To Lewiston, Idaho then north on highway 97 to Worley, Idaho.
Airport to Hotel Transportation:
The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel provides a 7-passenger Limo and Van service to and from the Spokane, Washington International Airport. This service is available with 24-hour advance reservations. The hotel is located approximately 45 minutes from the airport. Arrangements for the shuttle will be made by contacting the hotel front desk, at 1-800-523-2464, extension 7707. The pick-up location at the airport will be outside the baggage claim door.
The one-way shuttle fee is $25 for one person or $20/person if two or more people share the shuttle. This fee will be billed to the attendees' room.
Golf Tournament
Tee times for 16 people are reserved with tee times starting at 1:00 p.m. on October 13, 2005. The price of $55 per person includes 18 holes, golf cart, use of the 25 acre practice facility, GPS computer on the cart and signature bag tag. Groups of 4 players will tee off in 10 minute intervals. More than 16 players can be accommodated.
How to Start Your Own Cancer Support Group/Leadership Training-October 12 to 13, 2005 (limited to 15 students)
The goal of this training is to help cancer survivors and supporters develop a community based cancer advocacy group. The class is limited to 15 individuals and enrollment is on a first-come, first serve basis. If more than 15 people are registered by October 4, 2005, subsequent applicants will be placed on a waiting list and invited to fill vacancies according to the date the conference registration fee is received by NPCOH. There is no additional fee for this class, however, participants will be asked to pay for their own meals.
Conquering the Computer Divide (limited to 25 students)
The goal of this training is to help cancer advocates learn how to use the Internet to access cancer related information. The class is limited to 25 individuals and enrollment is on a first-come, first serve basis. If more than 25 people are registered by October 4, 2005, subsequent applicants will be placed on a waiting list and invited to fill vacancies according to the date the conference registration fee is received by NPCOH. There is no additional fee for this class, however, participants will be asked to pay for their own meals. Each participant will receive a refurbished computer and printer.
Travel Scholarships
Preference will be given to cancer survivors, their caretakers and family members. At this time, a limited number of travel scholarships are available, but are restricted by the type of cancer or location of the scholarship applicant. So, if you want to attend the conference, but need travel assistance, please register now and you will be notified if you qualify for any of the partial or full scholarships.
