Information Learned that can help NPCOH and its constituents:Linda Burhansstipanov and her NACR associates are planning a web-based survey to secure information from Native American cancer survivors that will help gather statistically information in several areas. They are Clinical Trials, Diabetes and Breast Cancer, Unmanaged Cancer Related Pain, and Improving Patient-Provider Communication. This working group provided input to the on-line survey questions NACR is proposing.
Other information learned:
NACR is developing "vignettes" that they are using in their web-based, written and oral presentations. The vignettes are video tapes of cancer survivors "Telling Their Stories." The survivor can say whatever he/she wants on a variety of subjects. A CD with the survivor's taping is given to the survivor.
Follow-up Needed:
NPCOH needs to continue to monitor what is happening with this project. A billing for $45 airfare needs to be submitted to NACR for reimbursement.
